Finally, a place for adults with Sensory Processing Disorder!

Hello everyone, and welcome to SPD Life, the first website dedicated to adults with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), a common and often misdiagnosed neurological disorder.

Never heard of it? Well, Sensory Processing Disorder is a unique spectrum of disorders impacting the way a person receives, integrates, or 'processes' incoming sensory information. If you are familiar with the sensory issues commonly associated with autism, then you are already aware of it! Most people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (including those with Asperger's) have some form of Sensory Processing Disorder on top of, or perhaps immitating their autistic diagnosis.

People with SPD can be hypersensitive to sensory input, undersensitive to input, or seek out enormous amounts of input. They can also have motor and postural imparments, and difficulty with making sense of the sensations they feel.

If this sounds like it might fit you or someone you care about, then this site is just where you want to be. We have the information you will need to help get you started on this journey.
